Yeah, it's an odd show -- I really felt like I'd walk about of the pilot hating it or being intrigued, but I'm still on the fence. A lot of its problems might be things they work out with more time, and could be functions of being a pilot (since pilots often establish crude caricatures around the board) and of being a sitcom (maybe a dramedy would be a better idea?), but it also still very much has the potential to be really disappointing. My money's on the latter, alas. Of course, if I'm reacting this way, and others do too, it may just prove too much work and angst to watch, meaning it'll die an early death anyways? But then, once you've seen a few episodes of "Little Mosque on the Prairie" (CBC), it is difficult to tolerate shows like Aliens. I'll watch next week and say more then. I think it's a bit more hip than Minnesota, and there's actually enough of a population to see it as a market to appeal to (unlike Iowa, the Dakotas, etc.).
